Gospel of John: The Word He Used 98 Times (And the One He Refused)

He wrote one word 98 times — more than Matthew, Mark, and Luke combined. And the obvious noun version of that same word? He never used it once. Not in twenty-one chapters.
Around the year 90 AD, in the city of Ephesus, the last living apostle sat down to write a fourth account of Jesus — knowing three already existed. So he left out almost everything they included. No manger. No Sermon on the Mount. No parables. No exorcisms. Roughly 90% of the Gospel of John exists nowhere else in the Bible.
This study looks at WHY. We trace four deliberate choices John made in the original Greek — the verb "pisteuo" (believe) he used 98 times, the noun "pistis" (faith) he refused, the word "semeion" (sign) he picked over "dunamis" (mighty work), and the seven "I am" sayings that build to "ego eimi" — the moment the crowd reached for stones.
By the end, you'll see the Gospel of John not as a retelling, but as a single argument, built brick by brick, aimed at one question: not "Do you understand this?" but "Are you believing — right now?"
